I am going to view a property that has oil fired heating and was wondering if anyone else has a property with this and if so, how much does it cost you? I'm aware that it costs a lot more than gas I just want to get a rough idea. Thanks

Hi Kat,it depends on how well the property is insulated /double glazing etc,how big house is, how old the boiler is. After 2007 all boilers should be A rated condensing boilers at least 97.3% efficient.
If it has a Combi boiler ,they are nothing but trouble.
Running costs probably 700-1500 a year .

Without seeing it I don't know what type of boiler it is or whether it's A rated or not, I'm hoping that it is. The house is a 3 bed cottage, semi detached. I would like it to be nearer the £700 mark but assuming it won't be :( I've had a mess around with some quotes and I'm looking at about £650 for 1000 litres, does this sound right?

Thanks hun, reading the advert it does say that its oil fired central heating with an open fire in the lounge, does this make a difference? when I know more about the heating system, then I will update this post.
