Legallity of on street parking (tax ins) found a car to break £200 99 A3 Turbo fail

May have found a bargin, there's an A3 for sale, she wants £200 for it as the turbo has gone, still drives.

I recon I could make my money back on that don't you? (and pinch some bits for mine )

Only snag is only place I can park it is on street, will it have to be insured? I presume it has a little tax on it, but all I want to do is remove all the bits and scrap the shell so it shouldn't take too long.

    Anyone know?

    Thanks

    Poor lad, that's disguisting!

I might be clutching at straws but it's council and it's technicley a layby for parking dunno weather they would class this as "on the road" pic below:

Really isn't worth risking it. The penalties are too high for a £200 car.

I might have a word with the local plod, as stateofplay said my licence is worth more than a car to break, it wouldn't be there long I'd just get cracking break the bits and stick em under the canopy in the garden then let the shell go to local scrappy Start with interior and work my way out. Council will be ok as long as it's done tidy and not left a mess.

That absolutely must be insured, it's a bay the council has installed and is deemed "Highway Maintainable". Unless you can get it onto private property you're knackered

Get insurance for it and cancel in the two week cooling off period (breaking the car within then obviously) and get the shell taken away. You get insurance, you get the car, the bits and you get your insurance money back when you cancel.
