ajmackie..... i read an old post of yours on high speed buffing.........
im thinking of having it done.....
did you get it done, was it worth it, did the result last a while, did it remove slight scratches etc.....
your near me if i recall, where did you get it done and how much?
cheers m8.

any other advive from anyone else would be great............
chhers u gize..... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif

yep i got it done! Defo worth it, i couldn't beleive how shiny my car was afterwards! It removed shed loads of scratches, including these nasty parallel scratch lines from automatic car washers (not me, previous owner!).
The shine is still lasting 8 months on, although I have obviously reintroduced some swirls by now!
I got it done at Lez Autos or Motors? It's on the causeway industrial estate, off the causeway going in to warrington centre from stockton heath.
as you enter the estate you go to the bottom where you see all the buildings, you turn left and take your 1st or 2nd right and it is at the bottom. they are a jaguar specialist.
it cost £40 to do and would highly highly reccomend it!!!!

Let me know how you get on!

SWEET, ILL CALL IN FOR A GLASS OF THE BLACK STUFF WHILST I WAIT. WHY ARE MY CAPS LOCK ON ???
ahhh ...thats better..........

LOL AT CAPS LOCk!
they had my car for the day! AMAZING that the place opposite where you drive in charge £100 for the same job! Post some before and after pics!!!

I WOULD , BUT I MIGHT GET LINCHED....... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/swear.gif... im doing the frickin cap lock thang again......
trouble is m8, im weighing the A4 in for a volvo S60 T5 se...... as you know, im a family man now..... the a4 is just a tad on the small size in the back. ive got 16 foot long legs and need the seat way back, this means the wife has to have her legs amputated... well, that or get a slightly bigger car. the other gripe is the boot, its huge, but the openings not so huge....
im a bit sad, i dont want rid of the audi, but its just got to be. ive had a t4 before and they are very well built cars, as are the audi's, but i dont have the right money to get the beefed up avant...so.......... you know..... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/swear.gif happens.
new car is nice, pick it up saturday... black...black leather.... fully loaded.... cant wait.
selling my audi to a lad in work, he's robbing me. x reg 2000 50k RS4s 6 x c.d its the biz.... 6 grand. gutted.
two advertisements on the auto trader at 88 quid and all i got was tyre kickin apu's.??? and heres me thinking they all drove nissan bluebirds.???????????????

aaaaargggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!!!!!!!
i dropped the price last week when it didnt go, now its gone, ive had about 30 phone calls today, its rediculas...... the weird part is when you tell them its sold and they still ask you questions about the car ????? like what part of "sold for less money than i wanted" dont you understand !!!!!!!! aaaaarrrrrgggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
anyhoo. its just gone. isnt it funny how when you get a new car it gives you a stiffy, then some time on you look at it differently ....... then when its pulling off your drive you see that first impression glimour and remember what it was that attracted you to this car in the first place,
sad to see it go. it was very very tidy.
favourite part of it was the wide angle of the front wing, with 18's it looked beefy and aggresive.
didnt like the sills, they looked unfinished....skirts would of looked nice.... and didnt like the black plazzy round the bottom of the back of the boot....again unfinished looking....
its hard to love it when you see the new shape A4 with that sexy little lip spoiler....
guess i really wanted an RS4 body kit......
ah well maybe one day.

no not palatines. go further down the left road.
it is lez i think and they do jaguars mainly. you will see a ship (was my mates grandad's!)
there will be a few jag's outside.

ill try again mucker.... so,let me get this right.... turn off wilderspool causway and go behind the causway pub...down a street with a few houses on the left...as i go in through the gates... travis perkins on my right..... which way then ....????
picked up the car today...got to get it buffed deffo.... i have inherited the same parralell lines and swirls you had.... its got to be done......pronto... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif

I have to say that £40 to buff a car is really cheap, I certainly wouldnt buff a car for that price lol, I bought a buffer and Ive done a few cars with it now, its a lot of hard work and you feel like youv'e got arnies ams when you finish.

To buff a car properly they should be using a fine cutting paste like Finesse by 3M, that takes all the polish and layers of crap off, the buffer which is just a 9" variable speed angle grinder which should be set to the lowest setting so it dosnt burn your paint, then you need put a fresh coat of polish on to protect the paint.

It is also a verrry messy job!, all the paste gets splattered everywhere so you need to wash the car down and dry off before polishing

Well it is defo done proper. My car looked mint with no swirls, scrathes or anything when i got it done! My mate has seen them doing the buffing before.
And my car is still super duper shiney even with a few swirls now reintroduced, so they must have done a good job!! Besides it saves the guy paying to go the gym if he wants arnies arms!

nice one m8...top map... will go on tuesday.....
i bought some new polish todays.... auto glymm super deep shine, for dark colour paints... i was a bit dubious and was gonna stick with super resin but this stuff is good........ highly recommended for black/dark cars....... my car looks the b@llocks now......
i will still get it buffed though as i assume it is a more permanent job......

erm if it looks the dogs now then i wouldn't bother personally. my car only stopped shining before because of all the scratches masking the beauty!! if it is scratch free at the mo, then wait until you've got the customary swirls all over the show and then get it done.
i last used autoglymm super resin and 2 coats of extra gloss. did it a month ago and my mates are still commenting on how shiny it is! will be using autoglymm a bit more methinks!

try their new super deep shine stuff......
as for my car... it lokks 100 times better than it did, but when in the sunlight, you can still see them rings everywhere...they look like spiders webs......
and there are a couple of little surface sratches...
???? dunno what to do now....still if they do it for 40 quid or so, it aint so bad......
