Kodak filing for Bancruptcy in the states. A spokesman for the company blames the mobile phone industry as there downfall. They will continue to supply printers, paper and ink for the moment.

Saw this on Peter jones twitter. To be honest I'm not surprised. With digital cameras and phone camera now the norm, Kodak seem to be market leaders in nothing. I think they supply the filming industry?

If you see the senior management bill for most of these established corporates they either need to be selling in enormous volumes (energy), selling something hugely expensive that you hope to never call on (insurances), selling fresh air (telecoms airtime), or Apple / John Lewis to survive!

A terrible shame, but I can imagine there is a financial institution or venture capitalist waiting in the wings to asset strip!

Pity the poor non management staff who just wanted to do a days work for a days pay.

I fear we will see more of these this year.
