Just a couple of questions about them

First off how do they work out flywheel power from wheel power?

And does it matter wot gear your in when testing for power? (as obviously lower gear ratio will b easier to put out the power)

Thank u rob

From what iv been told when at rolling road days, they calculate your transmission losses when they do the coast down part after, and this arrives at a flywheel figure. I'm fairly sure they usually do it in whatever gear is 1:1, usually 4th on a 5 speed, not sure about a 6 speed

Depending on car and the type of power it has, I think you will find cars with more power will use a higher/longer gear for the RR. So the rollers can get a more accurate readout of power delivery, than a quick run in the lower gears.
