Thread: What would YOU do?

Ok, picture this:

You are driving along and and get to a junction where there is another car that is stationary and waiting to turn left at a set of traffic lights. You want to turn right using the other lane at the traffic lights so you slowly start to drive around the other car.
At the same time there is a woman standing on the pavement not paying much attention because she is looking down talking to her two children (approx. 10-11 years old). She finishes talking to her kids and walks out into the road without looking so you brake. You were only doing about 2mph but she jumps as she sees your car. You stop and she crosses about 4-5 yards in front of your bonnet.

As she walks in front of your car she continuously gives you dirty looks. Even when she has crossed the road and is walking away on the pavement she continues to look back and mouth some things and gives more dirty looks.
You wave your hand at her as if to say "go away" and then you point to your eyes as if to say "you should look where you are going".

The traffic lights are still red so you wait in the right hand lane.

You then notice the same woman has left her kids standing on the pavement, has turned back and has walked 20 yards to approach your car.

She walks into the middle of the road and comes up to your driver's side window. She then bends down, puts her head through the open window and calls you a "w*nker" inches from your face.

You tell her to get her head out of your car. She swears some more. You tell her to "f*ck off" and to get her head out of your car again.

She says "you almost knocked us over".

You tell her you saw her and stopped and that she should have looked before crossing the road.

The argument continues.

There is more swearing from both sides. Voices aren't really raised but it is not a friendly exchange, and the worse things being said are swear words.

You get bored of the exchange and ask her how she can just leave her kids standing where she can no longer see them. You tell her to go away.

You then face forward and wait for the lights to change.

She spits in your face and walks off.



What do you do?

id go and give her a beat down, teach her some respect... or at least thats what id feel like doing

Do the window up whilst she had her head in it and drive off down the road, just as the scene in Snatch.

That would take some serious restraint, dont think there really much you can do. She sounds like scum, i'm guessing she'll be on the dole, so i'd point to lovely audi you just stepped out of, laugh in her face, and in a Borat style voice, say " You will never get this" haha

The total opposite actually. She is late 30's early 40's, well dressed, well spoken and the kids go to private school.

Not many options open really. he kids are right there.
I guess ask her to leave me and alone and **** off!!
If that not work, then open the door with a bit of force and hope it knocks her over and drive off.

in that case, i have no idea! follow her home and spraypaint her electric gates lol

She spat and then walked off. As far as she is concerned the confrontation is over.
I'm intersted to know what people would do at that point.

There's not a lot you can do without lowering yourself to her standards and assaulting her also - which is a thing most people thankfully won't do - (except for when we all assume the role of keyboard warriers on here!).

You could report her, but without knowing who she is you have little hope. You could take a photo of her and her kids, that would unsettle her for a bit?

I'd have definitely spat in her face tbh.

I once spat in a girls face who punched my then-girlfriend in a completely unprovoked attack, its pretty much the only thing we can do that seperates us from those who sit at home in their strings vests drinking Stella.

And how the hell do you end up in these situations? I think i'd have done the same though...accepted the abuse and then written a thread on the internet about it. Go check netmums, there'll be a thread on there about some craig david lookalike with an audi who verbally abused her infront of her kids

That's shocking mate. Spitting in someone's face is worse then punching them if you ask me.

I think I would have been too shocked to do anything in that situation. It's easy for everyone here to say they'd do this and that but they haven't been in the situation.

I asked a friend about it and he didn't react too shocked or badly when I told him the story. Then I realised it's because he thought I said that the woman "slapped". When he realised I said "spat" he went mental.

Thing is our society say's "you can't hit a woman" but to me, if a woman wants to act like that, she deserves a whack. If a man had done that to you it would kick off. I think I would have just been left stunned in shock.

Well it wasn't my wife, she doesn't spit...

I'd have been the same, i'd have been stunned. Spitting is proper grim and to spit in someone's face is sick, and a little bizarre.

I don't think I could punch a woman in her face. In fact, I know I couldn't. Unless she properly hit my child.

Women do things like this partly because they know they can get a way with it, but as you say, when it came down to actually chinning a woman, she would have to have done something pretty bad to deserve it. A touchy subject, that could go horribly wrong, depending on how the situation was looked at.

Never hit them in the face and make sure you do it during the winter months when they wear alot of clothes.

I think you're right though, women do push cause they know we can't/wont hit them and its wrong. what they do. A slap or soft hit I could possible understand depending on the situation but not a full on right hook to the jaw.............I duno.....may be.


Still, we can shake the **** out of them and push them down the stairs.

TBH I consider myself respectful of anyone I meet & try to avoid irrate situations as best as possible, even on the road I just let things go more these days as I know they're the cretins who couldnt even find a book store to even get a highway code to try & read, also you can usually see an action materailising in front of you before it happens, so you prepare for them stepping out, just by body language mostly, but if someone spat in my face, which is the epitome of a person who is on the same level of something you step on in a park, I'd be absolutely livid, its vile & absolutely disgusting, I can take verbal diarrhea every day of the week, but that is just foul.

She should pay more attention to what she's doing & with 2 kids aswell, who??? would turn back & leave the kids there FFS, cause next time she acts in that manner, it maybe be a guy who doesnt hold back or a woman & she'd get a well deserved thumping IMHO.

Now with reference to not hitting a woman, I'm not into that kind of thing, but we're all created equal as such, women wanted equal rights back in the day, so you punch me, I punch you back, regardless if you dangly or a holy valley lol, doesnt make me a stella wife beater, just makes them realise they cant expect everyone to accept there appalling attitude & actions towards anyone man or women, now very extreme situations with your better half may warrant you getting a lump lol, which inturn you wouldnt retalliate, but in the street by someone you dont even know, its called self defense & the law doesnt side with a woman just cause she has different genitals, afaik.

I cant say what would be the best thing to do in that situation, but if she wants to lower the tone, then she set the level, so a well deserved slug from the back of your throat would be well placed in her eye
