Dodgy speedo's......................(not the swimming type!!)

Hardly news, all speedo's are out by 10%, but always the right way i.e. shows a faster speed than you are actually doing.
My A4's is almost bang on according to my RA2, as I run 18" wheels which add about 1.5% to the rolling radius, 100 on speedo = 98 on RA2.
He's got it wrong anyway as at 40k service he'll have actually done 36k miles, not 44k miles.

yeah that means you're paying for more services than actually necessary!! or your mileage is higher than it should be!
i thought mine was out, so spotted a community speed display thing on a trailer set up on a road near mine. went past it at 30mph, it said 26mph. went past at 50mph it said 46mph. Mine always is about 4mph out on standard 16" 55 profile tyres (think 55 or 50!?).
However some 30 slow down signs seem to be set up so that they go off even if you're doing 30. the one near mine goes off when my speedo reads 30mph when actually i must only be doing 26mph!
