LOL :wtf:

Am I missing the point here? Thats surely a wreck!

would problally start if i put battery and petrol to it

Yeh right ..... !

petrol on it and it would start

Don't think you'll need a trailer to collect that, you could probably sweep it into a couple of bin bags

You guys are missing the point.

A tax exempt, two door Mk1 Escort shell is worth over a grand any day of the week regardless of condition. I've seen an OLD logbook and a production plate for a two door J plate (January 1971) Escort change hands for £1200 and there wasn't even a car to go with the log book. Just the documents.

Personally I have sold my own car (SE4 GTE, BBP 500G) to a guy with a Scimitar GTE which wasn't tax exempt, my car was actually the 13th off the production line and was THE ORIGINAL molding of a GTE. It was the second car ever registered, so had quite a history. Anyway, to cut a long story short he paid over the odds for it having won it on ebay then whilst I was waiting for him to come over from Guernsey I stripped the thread on the rocker pedestal and one of the tappets was a good 2mm out so it sounded terrible. He didn't care because all he wanted to do was swap the chassis onto his and sell the shell to make his own car that he'd owned 20 years tax exempt.

Interestingly that car doesn't come up on DVLA anymore, so I wonder if he didn't ever finish his plans.

Heres Prawns escort -

He'll still get £2000 for that and have people biting his arm off for it.

^^^ Yep, in serious demand now, most want to replicate past rally cars or stick a Cosworth engine/running gear in them. Cracking looking cars when restored properly, and can shift with right engine!

Thats another thing aswell, for a lot of motorsport the shell needs to be tax exempt. :)

I love a good OSF!
