I'm sure this has been asked and answered before..... But (and it isn't me it's my daughter!), I believe the time limit for issuing a summons is 6 months from the date of offence, is that right.??

Cheers

Thanks,

Not sure if any of the exclusions would apply in this case.

Offence was 22nd FEbruary and only received summons today 10th September, it was posted on 9th September

What are the circs?

From the link I posted I think this is the crucial bit:

So long as the information is laid within six months, the issue and service of the summons and the subsequent determination may all occur outside that period.

Yes, I,m sure you're right.

There are several dates on all the various bits of paperwork....

The crucial bits seem to be a 'summons' that is dated 4th July (but not received, along with all other paperwork until 10th September), and something from 'Judicial Services' that seems to state what evidence they will be relying on? Dated 9th September.

It seems to me someone has 'lost' the original summons, found it again then sent it to Judicial Services pronto, who then signed their bit and then shipped it out the door the same day..... Hoping I wouldn't notice it was over 6 Months since the offence??
