How to wash a baseball cap!!

Afternoon all, after getting back in from a round of golf this morning my cap is looking pretty dirty on the peak and even more so on the inside brim where its got sweaty marks on it, question is does anyone think its safe to pop it in the washing machine or does anyone know how to wash one without destroying it.

Its one of these in the same colour, or it used to be anyway lol.

missus says it depends on what the peak is made of... some are card, some are plastic... if the latter, should be safe to wash. failing that, theres always dry cleaning

I hand wash mine, just warm water in the sink, a fair bit of washing powder, leave it to soak for an hour, rinse with warm water and hang on the washing line.

Shampoo should help with the inside bit as it's designed to clean the same type of grease that comes from your hair/forehead.
