Hotmail not opening in new window

hi all i have IE8 with win 7. just today ive noticed when i click on an email and there is a link on this email it will open it in the existing window instead of a new window like it used to.

how can i change this back to how it used to be?

Tools, Internet options, Advanced, then under browsing there is an option to reuse windows for launching shortcuts, make sure that is unticked, apply, ok, then close and reopen browser, that should do it.
