I've been sent an invitation to set up a Gmail account. I've no idea what it is, what it does or what benefit I would get from it.

Is there anyone out there using it, who could explain it in simple terms, so I can decide whether I want it or not.

its free to join up so just try it and see! I like it, large storage space/upload limits and organises e-mails well, search option also excellent!

Has a taskbar add on which will notify you of new emails.

sidestepping the privacy issues, ive still got 10 invitations to join gmail if anyone wants one, then pm me with a contact email address and ill send one through...
