What is the craic with this, I'm on it through my brother in law, but I can't see a use for it, so I just treat any emails from them as spam.

It's basically Facebook for business, rather than your personal life.

It can be very useful for keeping in touch with your contacts. Obviously if someone you've not spoken to for a while changes company, you don't suddenly lose all their contact details when they hand in their company mobile, pack up their desk, and change office.

It's also a very good way of finding new employment - recruiters search based on your job title/experience, then can contact you with any potential opportunities.

Yep, that's my main use. Really good for finding people with unusual skill sets....
