JoJo, What a nice job. I dont envy you at all. Hope it fixes the issue.

Welly, That sucks balls mate. My misses had phone insurance with them and it was a right pain in the ass to try and cancel it with them.
I hope you get it sorted out. Keep up informed if you can.

Random question for the pub patrons.

If you're unable to lift something but you keep trying to lift that thing every day, will you eventually be able to lift it?
With out doing any other form of work out or weight training.

Would need to keep lifting something in the same way but lighter, regulalry. Then gradualy make that weight heavier and eventually you would get to the heavy weight you are trying to lift and be able to do it.....probably!
But not by trying the same thing every day, i wouldnt have thought.

    I would think yes.

The reason I say that is because surely trying every day would encourage your muscles to grow - a minuscule amount all-be-it - until the point that you would be able to?

I sided with no and then thought the same as welly.

People do repetitive jobs all the time of lifting things and I bet at first they could not do it.
I use to fit kitchens and I could not lift a length of work top ,With in 3 months I could carry one on my own.
But I started off small and with some help. So not really the same as my question.

My mate fits Commercial lorry tires, crane tires, all that sort of stuff.

And those things are damn heavy.

When he started, he couldn't lift them. After being there 6 years he can lift them with no problems. No additional training.

But kitchen fitting tyre fitting, you will be doing quite a bit of manual work, lifting and carrying stuff of various weights. So doing that day in day out you will probably build up the strength.

Working in IT, is there much manual work in it to help?

I'm not sure what my answer is. I'd say no probably as the act of lifting uses several muscles yet trying to lift a heavy object will use less I'd have thought so those for lifting wouldn't be getting a workout.

I also have a random question which my mates little brother asked me yesterday.

Why did sailors of old, and perhaps modern, wear flared trousers?

I had no idea whether they did in reality, or it was only in movies or YMCA videos etc. But if they do, why? Surely out at sea on a breezy day it'd be like having a dozen extra sails on the boat with all that ankle flappage.

I guess the heaviest thing in IT I carry is PCs from day to day.
The odd UPS or rack mounted server.
    But nothing thats a strain.

Crazy, I'll ask in work tomorrow for you.
I did ask a bunch of officers if you can do loop the loop in a sub. lol

yes if your muscles did some work but they are just under stress but not doign any work, and for th out of breathness then thats from holding ur breath and tensing, i dont know why but just does....

what if, for example. you try and pick up a car?
Every day on the way to the car you attempt to pick it up 4 times from one point, using arms or legs.
Most poeple can move a car up a little bit, so the muscles are working and moving.
If you did this long enough, will you be able to pick it up off the ground?

Bring on the after noon, I get to play about with ropes and climbing walls thats 40foot in the air.

I spent just under an hour on it yesterday, and with just a philips screwdriver, nothing else, and managed to strip the whole lower dash and center console out, wonderful build quality!
Well, 6 hours is how long it took me, with help from my mechanic mate for the last 3hrs to swop a heater matrix on a Toyota Rav4! I've yet to put it back together, but the main thing is in and operational, just giving it a few more days testing before I bolt the whole dash back together.

For anyone whose had the opportunity to change a heater matrix on a Mk2 Golf, this is 5 time harder! lol

    But it was fun!

No, I took a smaller tree root out last week by hand and muscles only! This one is a fair bit bigger though, but it's very close to the garden border, and the council's path at the end of my garden too, so I don't want to just drag it out as I fear it will rip up the tarmac. So instead, i'm going to cut it as low as I can, and then try kill the roots, and possibly pull it out later.

    Tech Guys.

My gf wants me to reformat her computer, new lease of life etc and install Windows 7. Is there a way to do this but keep everything as it is now? All programs installed still etc.

I've told her its not and if she wants a reformat then I can keep all her documents but she'll have to manually reinstall everything herself, shes convinced its possible. Is it?

Shes got a few trojans etc that keep coming back as well, so I've told her the best thing to do is just wipe it clean, and keeping everything as it is will defeat that object, as the trojan could be hidden in a program that shes wanting to keep on the drive.
