Relay Question.

Hey guys, silly question this, just wanted to know if relays in general all do the same, or is each cars relays different?

Basically, I have an aftermarket central locking system in my Toyota Rav4, but it's kind of broke. It works when you open it, but not when locking it! So after stripping half the dash away, I've found the problem to be the 5 pin relay. Unfortunately, the guy that installed it is no longer trading, and there are no marking or numbers on the actual relay.

So I'm after a 5 pin relay, will any one do, or do I need this specific one?

you will need one with the right amount of normally open / normally closed contacts and possibly the right current rating. I do more industrial stuff but thats the basics
