Car is booked in for MOT tomorrow morning in Sunderland at 8.30am which is why I've made the thread as I'm in need of a quick answer lol.

Coming home today and my brake pad warning light came on, I obviously dont have time to check them myself but was just wondering if this would count against me for the MOT, or is that just a 'servicing' thing?

Theres no pulling to one side or even any tell-tale signs that the pads need replacing.

Thanks,

Depends how worn they are, but yes, it can be an MOT fail. If the warning light is on I would expect it to get failed myself.

im not to sure, i know my sisters mini has passed a mot with the warning light on, but if the warning light wasnt on, and the mot inspecter cant see the brake pads throgh the wheel then its not a fail, so long as they work

Late i know... but 1.5mm is limit for brake pads on an mot.
If they cant clearly see them they should advise. But a lot of places fail as below 1.5, only to remove them and see there above.
Its hard to see with wheels fitted as your looking at an angle.

As for the warning indicator. Shouldnt matter. An airbag light isnt a fail! Nor is an EML
