Talk about being  out of luck.

Picked up the car last Saturday, didn't use it Sunday or Monday. Tuesday took wife out so she could get used to the controls, Wednesday fine, Thursday she wrecked the rear wheel on a kerb, Friday she scratched the front wheel on the same kerb!:banghead:

The question is, mobile repair or garage? Anybody had any experience of either?

My Dad came over from his house in France a few years back - Borrowed my old A3 and kerb'd my 17" 9 arm wheels so bad that it covered most of the wheel...
I wouldn't have minded so much, but he used to be a pursuit trained police driver ***...!

Anyway - He left me a blank cheque to repair them - I got a guy in (Sorry lost his number) to come out to my house, 3 hours later they looked new again - I decided to go out down the pub and show my mate how good they looked again, and on the way down their clipped a kerb... :banghead: I've never done that before - Like wearing new shoes i suppose; your always paranoid of catching them!

I'd definitely recommend these guys mate :icon_thumright:

I now feel your pain...The annoying thing is that I told here previously that the kerbs were higher than the tyre profile, but what really keeps me smiling about the whole situation is that she is a 'lessons learned' workshop facilitator!

Have you got any idea of cost per wheel?

lol - Will your wife learn the lesson - Perhaps you could keep some 'Risk Assesments' in the car... These are filled in each time your good lady is about to park :lmfao:

£60 for each wheel - I had 2 done.

My S-Line wheels on my B7 are mint as we now live in the sticks... so.... fingers crossed!

My nicely powder coated rims are battered to hell now,

Front left - from avoiding a maniac intent on driving into me head on
Rear left - Slipped in the snow :(
Rear right - lent the car to my GF :(

SO after spending £300 on getting them coated once...I have to do it all over again...grrr.

T

Dude, just let them get dirty like mine, then maintain the dirtiness....my anthracite looking wheels dont cost me anything

The problem I have is that I wasn't expecting to fork out cash on the car so early in its life..I thought since it is 4 months old, I would be safe up until the first service. It's not as if the wheels aren't going to get damaged some time in its life...but within the 1st week of owning it!:crying:

Risk assessments sound good, in fact our company will not let us step into a car until we have completed a 'safe plan of action' as well. I think I will bring some home and wait for the slap!

At least they will match the colour of the car...The problem is the roads around here are really dirty, so they actually have a hint of brown.

85 squids per wheel at the place near me. I am heading to Wales tonight to see the folks, so might have a look around there.

Yea but would you trust Halfords??

One of the guys in my office has decided to change vocation and has moved out of IT into wheel refurbisment, if anybody's interested he's in Swindon - The Wheel Specialist (ask for James Pattinson). They do a same day service drive in or drop off.

If anybody wants any deatils let me know.

Once the repairs are done you really should get your wife an old hummer. You won't have a problem if she hits any more curbs and you won't have any repairs at least on the hummer if she hits anything else.
