Rear seat removal for non folding seats

WTF

im trying to take out the back seat on a A4 saloon, the base just comes out with ease, but for the love of chocolate i can not find any way to get the back surport part out, its the non fold down model on a B7 but its the same as a B6

Can anyone please tell me as im about to take a very sharp Stanley knife to it!

I would bet you need to pop the headrest guides out, and there are probably brackets below the cushion bit.

Dont the sides by the doors pop off to reveal the fixings behind there or from behind in the boot, dont ruin a good seat mate with a knife.

they will be out one way or another, the tow trucks coming monday morning to take the shell to the crusher, with or without the rear seat in it!
