Inline 6 then, still nice, just keep reminding yourself it's half a McLaren F1 engine.
No Audi's aroud that price bracket that are anywhere near as much fun. S4 is just too much like my old A4 Quattro.

In the E36 M3(3.0 model(3032cc)), yes... sort of. The McLaren F1 runs a BMW developed 6.1(6064cc) V12, which is basically 2 M3 engines(technology wise), but the Evolution is an uprated version with increased capacity to 3.2. The E46 engine is obviously an updated version of the E36 3.2 engine.
