Your ultimate stable...

Sorry if this has been done before, but if you could have a stable with say 12 cars, what would it be?

Mine.
1. 1974 Porsche 911 2.7RS
2. Audi RS2
3. Audi UR Quattro SWB
4. Audi RS4 B7
5. S2 Coupe (My old one back)
6. S3 8L (The current one)
7. Porsche 997 turbo
8. Porsche 991 GT3 RS
9. Lamborghini Gallardo LP-560
10. Range Rover Evoque Dynamic.
11. Subaru Impreza P1
12. Audi RS5 Coupe

Come to think of it, I could have probably picked 20 cars easily!

Ah, the dream garage question!

Should have limited it to 5 cars, the world is your oyster with 10+, with 5, you have to actually think about it more!

Either way, if money no object, the first car on my list is a McLaren F1 road car!
I'd also want a MINT Mk2 GTI G60 in Aubergine in my Top 5, don't ask me why, I just always wanted one, and despite them being available and affordable to me now, I still think they're a bit too much money, so I will probably leave it as a dream.
A road legal SWB Audi quattro rally car.
Every dream garage must have a Ferrari in it right? F40 is my ultimate dream Ferrari.
And finally, my daily would probably be an RS4/6 Avant, not driven either, but a load carrier with monster perfomance would do me fine.

A great question and even if it has been done before it's worth doing again.

1. MP4-12C - I'm a lifelong McLaren fan and that is my number one car, if I could only have one this is it.
2. Nissan GTR - highly tuned to 750bhp plus, a tech fest and a weapon
3. Ariel Atom 300 Supercharged -because it can redefine your senses
4. 911 GT3 (991 with paddles) - because to be able to pull both paddles to lift the clutch and execute a slide is awesome.
5. Renault Megane R26.R - the 911 GT3 RS for the rest of us, an incredible little car.
6. Lightning McQueen - you did say ultimate stable and a talking car would be cool and my boy would love it.
7. Aston Martin Vanquish - Bond, James Bond & for taking the Mrs out.
8. Mercedes SLS AMG - for the Mrs, to nip to the shops and that sort of thing, I'd hardly drive it, honest
9. MP4-12C Spider - for when it's sunny
10. Audi RS6 - family wagon, holidays and that sort of thing
11. Impreza WRC (full works) and buy Phil Price Rally School with it's own special stage to play at the weekend.
12. 911 (991) Turbo as my every day runabout

I know a guy that owns a Ferrari and it seems after you have had a drive in it, it goes back to the dealership for a £££££ rebuild! I think they are beautiful cars though.

Nope no Ferrari for me either, McLaren all the way!

I've had a go in both out on the road, the Ferrari stirs your soul, the Lambo Gallardo I had a go in was quicker, but it was effortless, too easy to drive! And for sure a McLaren F1 is the ultimate dream car above anything else, so I'd have both!

Sorry no Audis, I did take the RS4 out and put the 993 Porsche in its place. Trimming the list down to 5 that suit me to a tee (3 British cars!!!):

Mk2 Escort/S2000 off-road duties on a private rally course
Lotus Exige S for the track
TVR Cerbera 4.5 for grumbling around
Aston Martin Vanquish for posh jaunts to Europe (any Aston, not specifically the Vanquish)

edit 2: I've owned minis and mk2 escorts so I won't get those, and am saving for a 996 Porsche C2 at the moment which I'll most-likely trade for a Cerbera then a T350C - I should do this the other way around do the TVRs first but I know I'll fall in love with them more than the Porsche. If I can afford it, then ideally I'll get an Ariel and have an Porsche 997 C2S as a daily. And a Ducati 1199 Paningale. And..and...
