Just had phone call from colleague working in the Lancaster area. Driving home for Barrow-in-Furness on A590 and forgot about high mounted speed camera on 60mph limited road until he was almost on top of it Reckoned he was doing 65mph at the time but thinks he braked to 63mph before the end of the road markings. he is in a right old flap as he has 6 points already. No idea how Plod views such matters in that part of the world, it's not Wales after all!!!!! Allowing for speedo error and marginal excessive speed I reckon he will be OK, or at worse may be caught but offered speed awareness course rather than automatic 3 points and £60 fine. Wot U Think?

Don't think they offer speed awareness unless you have a clean licence.
I wouldn't worry about doing 63 in a 60. If a ticket does arrive, fight it.

He had a 10% margin of error. He'll be ok if he's telling the truth.

See no reason for him to lie. Didn't know that speed awareness only offered if licence clean.

but some forces do you 1 mph over the limit

I got hit with 3 points and £60 at ings ,could not believe it ,i must have pulled off to fast thinking i was clear doing 50 in a 40 :(
