as theres not much action in the rs6 section of the forum and some clever knowledgeable people elsewhere..... spent 3 hours today at work trying to work out why an rs6 wouldnt start.....

yes but if i say to my boss it wants an ecu and he orders a £800 ecu and it doesnt fix it....... i get it in the neck!
but i think it is the ecu and ive been pouring over the elsa-win wiring diagram this afternoon. and taken half the car apart!

is there anything can-bus related on these that will stop it starting? as the vas5052 also wont communicate with the central locking, radio etc.
also theres an abs fault thats simply described as "check dtc memory for engine ecu" this also wont clear.
this might be to do with the throttle body faults tho as throttle position is used to calculate engine load signal for the esp/traction/abs. hmmmmmm.
while the abs/traction light comes on with the ignition and goes out as it should..... as your cranking it over the abs light flickers.
