    JD Cambelts Near Canterbury

    Hi all,

It's time for Cambelt change for me. Just wondering if anyone used know anythink about JD Cambelts?
JD Cambelts. Cambelt Replacement Service for Canterbury and East Kent

    Or

Thinking going with S-line in Ashford. But was bit put off by them saying Dayco makes belts VAG OME parts.
    www.s-lineautomotive.co.uk/
Every else saying Dayco is NOT ome part for Audi. Or not heard them.
2 places saying dont like using Dayco belts.

    Thanks

    Dan

Dayco,Gates and Contitech are making belts for Vag group. I would only go with dayco on a 4 pot engine, i had a Dayco belt snap on my own car at the joint line 3k after i've rebuilt the engine... Bought the car with worn camshafts and previous owner had a garage fit the cambelt kit, i just did not change the belt as it looked new to me and had only few miles on it. It was painfull rebuilding the v6 tdi engine, new heads, new cams amongst other things but the most time consuming was replacing the crankshaft housing, the belt curled and sheared the top off causing the engine to dump all the oil on the floor- brown trousers moment as i thught the engine hydrolocked and thrown a rod trough the block !

Contitech cambelt kits do come with new studs for the tensioner and relay rollers- they are stretch bolts and some shear if not replaced. They are not supplied on every engine just the ones prone to fail !

I understand what you're saying but i had folks travel over 250 miles just to get a job well done ! I would not mind travelling 50 odd miles just for piece of mind ! I would make sure the garage replaces the water pump whilst at it !
