Hi all
Looking to buy an rs4 i have owned a s4 which was the v6 twin turbo, but i had a few problems with it and was wondering about buying a slightly younger v8 model, but was unsure what the general thought was in terms of the best, most reliable and of the two which is more economical....i know that rs4 and economical are not really associated but every mpg counts.....

well theres only 2 to choose from
the b5 still looks good
but id say the b7 as the b5 costs just as much to run and the repair bills more or less the same
iv had both

get a b7, because i have a b5 and i dont want you having the same lolol

id go for a B7, the twin turbo setup with bring you nothing but grief. As they say 'There is no replacement, for displacement'

what made you get this idea?

there are rs4 b5's with 188k on the clock, on original turbos......

Uh huh, but the n/a v8 has to be more hassle free. As soon as turbos get involved, there is just so much more to go wrong. I know what I'd rather stick my money into. Obviously you sacrifice alot of tuning potential, but the power the 4.2 kicks out should satisfy most.
