To make sure your summer tyres survive the winter, all you need to do is store them correctly. If the rubber is badly stored, it can crack and lose its properties.

It is therefore recommended to follow these simple storage rules :

  • Store them in a dry, ventilated, and warm place (10 – 25°c)
  • Make sure no chemical substance comes into contact with the rubber (solvents, hydrocarbons) to avoid deterioration.
  • Store tyres with or without a rim differently
Storage with a rim :

DON’T STORE THEM STADING UP, HANG THEM UP OR STACK THEM UP

Storage without a rim :

DON’T STACK THEM UP, DON’T HANG THEM UP, STORE THEM STANDING UP AND TURN THEM EVERY 4 WEEKS

If you’re not able to store your tyres at home, many garages or car dealers can look after your summer tyres for not too high a price.

As usual, if anyone needs more help or advice, just PM me, or reply to this thread! :hi:

Thanks!!! :D isnt it also best that you let off some pressure as you store them?

Hi there,

Thanks for your feedback! In actual fact there is no need to let any air out at all, just make sure they're at the regular pressure when they go into storage, and check it again when you put them back on your car.

Hope this helps! :hi:

Oh and make sure you check the pressure BEFORE you put the tyres back on your car for obvious reasons!
