    Flashing Brake lights

I've sat behind a couple of new cars recently and noticed that their brake lights was flashing.
At first I thought it was a faulty switch and thought nothing of it but i've started to notice more and more are doing it.

Is this a new thing they all new cars should have flashing brake lights or are they all broken?

Are they usually the LED type rear brakes that you see flashing? If so, it's the ABS kicking in! A lot of modern cars have flashing rear brake lights to warn the drivers behind.

The lights are LED but I doubt very much its the ABS kicking it.
They was doing less than 30MPG and it was happening all the time.

I know they have started flashing when breaking hard or ABS is kicking it in but this was every time.

It could be broken, it was a vauxhal and a ford. lol

On my car I car have it so that the hazard lights flash if I brake hard, as a warning to other cars.
This sounds like a variation of that to me.

So it's either that or your were behind someone with a leg twitch.

Its just bloody annoying for me.
Red flashing light and my eyes are drawn to them.
    Like any flashing light really.

I guess thats half the point.

I've seen plenty of the new vauxhall's doing this but not seen anything else with it yet..... Looks mighty weird, and knowing vauxhall it'll be a fault
