Car Tax question (prob common sense!)

Getting my 96 B5 tdi on Wednesday there's no tax on it (not sure when it ran out and not sure if it was sorned but prob was) anyway it'll be the 26th Jan am I loosing a months tax by getting tax during Jan should I wait til Feb 1st??

Yeah you lose it, may as well wait until start of Feb if you can.

The only way you wouldn't loose it is if you owned the car and had a reminder through the post sent direct to you. Then I think its either a week or two before the end of the month that you could renew the tax.

Either that or when you buy it arrange for the owner to tax it at your expence that way if its driveable you could drive it home
