odd sound from front of my car?

Ok so you know the sound the car makes when you break and the ABS kicks in?? ( that kind of road groundy sound )?

well my car is making that same sound when not breaking, its not as bad as it sounds tho its a faint sounds which happens and it doesnt happen all the time. im maybe thinking just some excess sult from the gritters doing the roads over the snow period but am i right in thinking that it could cause the sound?
