My previous car which was a DC2
Fiesta XR2 with a Pukka Turbo Technics conversion in it........wow that thing was quick in a straight line. You really had to know how to drive it to get it to go round corners fast......it always put a smile on my face......and embarrassed an awful lot of bigger cars such as Cosworths which were the Dawgz Bawz in them days.
106gti :) often abused, hardly ever washed lol
Tough. For going ridiculously fast through the twisties and putting a huge grin on the face id say my Escort Cosworth. But i think my old Mk2 XR2 pips it purely for the fact that it was like a bloody go kart! No back seats (replaced with carpeted MDF with sub, amp and speakers sunk in) 3 point harnesses, twin weber 45s, ported and polished head, ashley exhaust manifold and exhaust (straight through,no need for a cat!) monroe shocks and eibach (i think) springs. Awesome car. Only problem being when i first got it the drivers door catch was a bit sketchy. It would lock, however if you came across a left hander that was a little too bumpy the door was likely to swing open on you. Replaced it sharpish! Only cost me £500 in 2005 too!
By far the best/most fun car I've owned was this:-
This GTR had a massive spec list together with some very rare parts. It was running 600bhp and 440lb/ft which made it fun to drive.
I sold the GTR in Oct 2006 after 4 years of ownership & fortune in ££££ when I moved over to my first Audi which was an RS 6!
I have now sold the RS 6 & moved down to an S3 which I love BTW
I still miss the GTR even though It's six years down the line.
1987 Ex BT Austin Metro Van
Sporting a well modified turbo engine making 174bhp and 178ft/lb torque on 17psi of boost.
Did 1/4 mile in 13.9 @ 103.7mph with a shocking start due to garbage tyres.
Got it up to 25psi (Asuming above 200bhp) before we got shot of it and boy was it scary on the road! Was a scooby slayer in a straight line and not bad in the twisties.
Upset many a boy racer (and beemer/audi boys)
Most fun car I've had would have to be my classic mini that I've built. It's a mid engined RWD beast. Currently has an MG160 1.8vvc running nitrous.. Still not completely finished but will weigh about 600kgs when done.. Going to upgrade the engine to a 2.5 V6 with twin turbos I think.. Gotta completely finish it though.. I'll try to find some new pictures but heres one mid build from last year.. Not much about that it hasn't beaten, ariel atom v8 however did eat it and spit it out.. :(..
