I'm going to try and keep my story as short as possible here. About 6 weeks ago i had a coil pack fail on my B6 S4. I brought 1 from audi and went through each one trying to find which one was faulty. In the end, i managed to make another 1 fail while going through them. I then brought 7 more and fit them. I had to remove the MAF to get to the one bank and like a dick i turned the ign on with all coils in but maf disconnected
I put all the parts back together and dis connected the battery to try and reset the air bag light (was told this would work by a mate), well it doesn't!!
I now have vagcom thanks to Nigel ans performed a scan last night. Got this come up -
VCDS Version: Release 908.0

01794 - Control Module - Incorrect Chassis (VIN) Number

Looking at the ross tech site it says the air bag control module needs re programming to change the vin number.
Why would removing the battery do this?
This was the short story too!!!
