G42 intake air temp sender
Mine's showing up as faulty on VAG-Com.
Occasionally it works, and reads right, but 90% of the time, it's showing a permanent 143 degrees C.
Which I presume would be a contributing factor to the cars slowness. Being as the maximum range should be 70 something. I guess it's retarding the ignition and holding back the boost for fear of a melt down.
I've ordered a new one (i think) from Audi. But I'm just wanting to check I've got the right thing.
Audi have identified it as the sensor which is plugged in to the throttle body rubber boot (and then held in with a big steel bracket).
I've identified that this is also the boost pressure sensor....by removing the plug with the engine running, which then maxed out the boost reading on the VAG com.
Is it really two sensors in one. Or have Audi made a ****up?
It's £100+ quid. So I'd like it to be right the first time.
