If new coil packs doesnt solve it, it might be worth checking the wiring to the injectors with all the heat the plastic wire covers can crack and contact each other, although you dont have a fault code so it's probs not that. lol
Hope it sorts it for you dude, OEM coilpacks FTW
£134.40 inc vat for plugs and 4 coilpacks from me at special rates. Depends if you can wait until the weekend
We've ordered up 8 of the following plugs:
eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace
Yeah i just saw the plugs thread as was just coming over to amend the price lol.
8 coils would be £201.60 inc vat
The bolt down Hitachi's are OEM of course, but said to have much less issues. I think they were on a few golfs etc.
Standard ones are push down. Older ones like whats on my AEB are bolt down.
Yeh I had push downs originally and read that bolt downs were more reliable? You can even feel the quality difference with the hitachi ones. They are heavier - "heavy is good, heavy is reliable. If it does not work, you can always hit him with it." as Boris would say.
Possibly. I know you can get the clamps to hold down the push fit coils so yeah you could be right. Would need to know exactly what model they were off. Sadly doesnt tell you what make they are on our system.
They've been fine on mine, producing good power, for the last few months. Touch wood.
I'll grab the part number for next time. From memory they were actually cheaper! I've seen there's a kit to convert 2.0 TFSI coils too.
I saw a talk on the A4 section of Audizine about using the TFSI coils and them giving actual power gains aswell. Need adaptors for them i think although might just be the A4`s that needed those.
Not to Audizine but found this whilst searching: :| INA - 1.8T to 2.0T Coil Pack Adapters (TECH & FAQ) - INTRO PRICING |: - SEAT Cupra.net - SEAT Forum Late page 2 and page 3 are the bits that are more promising.
That's an interesting read mate. I'll keep my eye on these.
You know who sells them... Run away, aaah!
You can get the coils changed for free from Audi at the moment. I got mine changed yesterday from them no charge.
Yes i did :), also emailed the buggers and had no response so just gave up haha.
Whens the trip to ring? I still have the S3
Is there a trip itinerary?
Does it matter though westy mate? They didn't even ask me when mine were last changed or where from. They asked if I'd got my car serviced by them I said i take it to an independent specialist and that was that.
Westy. How and to where did you mount the toyosport intercooler in the end.
I don't have the part number for the coils to hand but they are the "E" type coils. I think it's 06B905115E. ECS sell them as their "Stage 1 Ignition Kit".
yeh dont matter about the coil's if i was you just put your old ones in and take the car to audi and keep the new ones then you have a spare set
I fitted my new spark plugs and coil packs yesterday. Big thanks to Jason.S for hooking me up a big discount on the coil packs
The slight hesitation I was experiencing under full load seems to have gone which is very nice. All the coils that I removed looked fine and the plugs were all sotty but no more than you'd normally expect. There was however a fair bit of oil around the plug that came from cylinder 2 which is a bit worrying.
2.o tfsi coils and adaptors (with testing) will be done here shortly.. I have 2 different versions of fsi coils on order now.
Oil on plugs, hope its nothing serious!
