Trouble Starting - 1.8T (Not your average!)
Ok, so i have done a search and read loads of threads but none which seem to match up with the problems i'm having! I'll be as detailed as possible....
Went on a 35-40min drive to a meeting... when i got there, meeting had been delayed so i jumped back into the car and drove 2minutes to the shop. Came out of the shop, turned the key, the car started for a split second and died.
There was about a 1/4 tank of petrol, but it was parked on a hill so I called the brother around and we got another 5litres and still no joy. I noticed then that the pump wasn't trying to prime when i turned the key. Out with the tow rope, and back towards home. BUT, after 5 or 6 mins towing, i tried to start the car and it fired up... drove home from there with zero problems, running fine.
The following day i started it up to let someone out of the driveway, put the car back in and it hasn't started since. The fuel pump is not priming. I got a pump from the breakers, and it still didn't prime. I then got a brand new pump, still no prime. I didn't install the new pump fully, i just put the power wire on it to see if it was going to try prime.
I also got a brand new key from Audi, coded to the immob, and it made no difference.
I also got a new fuel pump relay from Audi, and a crankshaft sensor. Neither did the trick.
It's definitely not getting fuel, as i have removed the fuel lines from the rail and they're bone dry.
VAGCOM shows no errors, although the last time i hooked it up was before i put the new crankshaft sensor.... would i have to clear any faults or anything for that to work?
Anyone have any ideas as to what to do next?
