Took my girlfriends 1998 R reg fiesta for an MOT Last thursday and passed with no major problems.
Anyway next day (friday) last week, i took the car in for its service at Ford In leicester, left it there in the morning, got a courtesy car and came home and went to bed (i work nights)
Got a phone call a few hours later (while half asleep) from their mechanic/service dept detailing everything wrong with the car that needed fixing and how much it would be.
Heres the list:-
1) Both Front Indicator Bulbs Showing White - £43.52
2) Wiper Rear Split - £9.87
3) Coolant Level Low 2 Ltrs - £30.17
4) Drive Belt Worn/Damaged £90.19
5) Discs Front Scored - £176.86
6) Rear Brake Requires Adjust - £37.50
7) Front Suspension Bushes Worn Both arms - £159.02
Bearing in mind they didnt know and i didnt tell them the car has just been MOT'D so i know for a fact half of those things would have failed the MOT and guess what not one thing on that list is true.
The coolant was full so why did it need 2 litres?, the brakes were changed by me last year (no scoring on them at all) drive belt was changed by me last year and is Pretty much new.
Wiper blade is not split and buses are not worn.
The one that made me laugh the most was indicator bulbs showing white lol, honest to god how stupid do they think people are, its scary to think if i was some unsuspecting fool that i could have easily just paid £550 for nothing.
Anyway the point of this topic is i need legal advice as i want to take this further, i am not happy that i was almost ripped off and want to put a formal complaint in to ford head office and possibly even take this further.
Why should these b****s get away with this.
