He's swapped them back ready for part ex-ing next month
Pretty sure they were sold on, but I know Warren LOVES the RS4's, don't ya mate :blow:
Your car's beautiful btw!
They wouldn't be my choice of wheel, they're a ****ter to clean, they look clean for about 4 seconds, dirt seems to cling to them in a way I could never imagine.
I did try some 19" RS4's in hyper silver at one point as I had some from my old car, but went with the rotors instead.
But then you can't beat the 19" rotors on these which now reside on forum owner Muzza's car :-(
Had build week confirmed this morning, 5th of May it is, so hoping to collect before end of month of May. What a great birthday present to have your S5 built that day. I'm loving that!
For a near 3 year old car it's looking mint at the moment, whoever buys it will be getting an absolute minter:
Great news on the confirmed build date and love the bonnet pic of your S3 above, looks fantastic and reminds just how good panther black is
After my TTS and the endless cleaning of it, I vowed not to have black again, but I must admit it does take some beating and I am already thinking I may at some point cave on that - seeing pics like yours above certainly makes me think perhaps black is worth the labour of love it demands.
I may go silver next time though and have the easy life :)
Only problem with silver on an 'S' car is the mirrors look odd.
Black needs to be kept perfectly clean to look special, when its dirty it looks flat. Saw a 13 plate SB S5 in black on M25 last week and it was filthy, looked very average. A lack of any kids and some personal passion should hopefully keep mine clean despite my hate for cleaning cars!
The new Camaro in Hawaii Five O is black and looks incredibly mean & menacing ....
Oh man, that is one hell of a car. You're quite the film buff aren't you, lots of film references in your posts! Can't beat American muscle car for a bit of drama and presence. Can't remember the last time I saw a dirty car in a TV programme / film!
Oh yes mate ... TV / Film & cars are a passion :icon_thumright:
Yeah the black Camaro looks immense and is always gleaming ... even when they've just driven through a dirty field and dust everywhere :)
Great news on the confirmed build mate!
My dealer is still away until after Easter - I spoke to someone else there who said my car was now also showing BW 19 (5th May)
But i'm not holding my breath until its confirmed.
So you car shares your Birthday, that cool!
Bizarre I've been told BW 18 is wk commencing May 5th by my dealer. If it is actually 19 I'll take it as I will get car a week earlier.
To celebrate the car getting built next Monday I've decided it was time to add to the S5 cookie jar of modifications as this thread was starting to suffer the same kind of tumbleweed my father in laws jokes get now that we've all heard them weekly for the last 12 years.
Thanks to Cuppa and his spangly Group Buy I now have a bit of quality merchandise to bolt to the undercarriage of the old girl and sharpen up those gear changes. I'm expecting it to make the kind of difference that would make gear changes akin to those in 'Fast & Furious' (get a movie reference in for Snake!), as nobody likes a sloppy box be it transmission or otherwise ;-)
Marvel in the wonder of my shiny bits:
For circa £60 you'd have to think only someone who likes the sensation of stirring day old porridge wouldn't want one. Fits any S4/S5 in the latest B8/B8.5 configuration, so if you don't want to be square, get there, sign up and enjoy some sharp changes! GROUP BUY
Warren i can now understand why your going to be in need of extra power and are getting the car remapped straight away:whip: ,its because of the extra weight your adding with all these goodies your buying.I apologise in advance if thats one of your father in laws old jokes as I'm probably about the same age as him.:blahblah1:
I'm desperately trying to lose a bit of weight (off my person) to compensate but at this rate I may even have to be 'normal' within the BMI index to compensate for all the tat added. I've got no chance.
Ha Ha ... you are gonna need several days of your car in the garage getting all the bits and bobs fitted when it arrives.
Let's hope your car does get built on time and there are no further delays otherwise you may have to find even more items to buy :)
I hope you realise though, your thread is providing lots of entertainment building up to the arrival of your car.
You have set a high standard now continuing this once your car arrives.
I have seen your old S3 thread though so know there is likely lots to look forward to and seeing all the mods fitted to the car.
In the meantime, I am still thoroughly enjoying my 'bog-standard' S5 lol.
So impressive and even turns a motorway drive into an event.
Love joining the slip road and booting it in S ... when you have your mods done my god it will be brutal
But then you settle down to a cruise and the 3.0 litre engine is so smooth, quiet and refined .. and did I mention the comfort of the seats ?
You NEED some o these mate   :icon_thumright:
That is what I will be buying chap, got the seal of approval from she who must be obeyed in terms of looks, but she doesn't yet know the cost!
Nice one ... glad we share the same taste in wheels as well as cars :)
They are cool though aren't they.
Love the RS4 V-Spokes...as I've said elsewhere, they would make me question staying on the standard 19"'s if they'd been available as an option...
The only issue with 20's is that you pay out all that cash, then you realise you need some decent brakes as there are some big gaps in there to fill. That can mean £3k+ then another £2-3k.
You can get a set of good aftermarket 20's for £950 from Germany, but then you're still looking at £1000 for tyres, so is it saving enough over OEM? At that size where tolerances are so much finer I'm just not sure.
Diamond cut fascias with dark grey painted internals.
There is an aftermarket company (LINK) that does some here but they are only 19's. I'm not quite sure how they'd look as 19's as they're quite a spidery wheel, but as 19's I could have them shod and fitted with rubber for sub £1500. That would retain ride quality, and might look quite a sharp contrast against the black.
There are also these 20's from Germany for a reasonable price LINK
Gotta say they look ace mate !
The contrast of colours is superb and would blend with your black car perfectly IMO.
I know you had the titanium rotors on your S3 as a retrofit, these are my 1st on the S5 and the colouring is great and the above rims you have identified carry this look over on the RS rims in the same way.
However I suspect you might be able to get these OEM (well 19”s anyway) very soon
I was playing on the Audi configurator a few weeks back, and these wheels appeared as a S4 Black edition option.
No code or price and it wouldn’t let you actually select them, but they were there and had a picture! Now they disappeared.
This is why I’m keen to establish MY15 changes (albeit too late now) surely they will have to reintroduced a 20” wheel option for the S5??
I didn't warm to them initially, but I've seen them on a few cars recently at local dealers and they look sharper than the over used rotor. I love rotors, but these look big as the spoke design buts up to the edge of the rim. The rotors have the polished edge lip which makes the spokes look shorter.
I'm half tempted to buy the 19's of the ones above and see what they're like.
The only other alternative for me was these in poli balck or gun metal:
Warren ... knew I had seen these wheels (v spokes) on a black edition S5 and IMO look great ...
20 V spokes - A5_OC
This was the car that made me realise that 19's may be a touch too small for this wheel. These are 20s and they look just about right.
Nice find Snake. 20's it is then as they only just look big enough. 19's would look like Noddy car on that wheel style.
Totally agree .... 20's all the way for this style of alloy.
Also agree ... as good as the rotors are, they are way over used in the Audi range, but as my 1st time with them I can kinda get over the common-ness of them ... and they are a doddle to clean which is a big bonus :)
Those V Spokes will also be great to clean inside and out with loads of air and hand access.
And here they are on a Phantom Black Black Edition S5 the wheels came from Glen @ Revolution .

After having had 3 months of old style RS4 18" wheel ownership I'd take pink rotors over these for ease of cleaning. I'd rather be kicked in the nuts at the end of every car wash than spend another 3 years cleaning them, it's just horrific.
Lol whilst i was finding the link Snake beat me to it its the same car but on a different forum.:jump:
Nom nom nom (Just need to get shot of that V6T badge.....)
Link to where those wheels came from.
Welcome to Revolution Motorstore
Those 20" V Spokes look amazing on the S5 IMO.
The A/S/RS5 is such a gorgeous looking car. Can't wait to see how you find your when it is delivered and has all the little tweaks to it.
