Hi recently bought a 2004 audi a3 v6 3.2, now the independant dealer warranty is giving me a right run around with nothing being fixed. So though would ask you guys.

Fault is: temp gauge not working, fans not coming on.

Awesome GTI say a clock issue,
have error code 17745 (cam sensor) and previously before clearing also:16398 and 18025

Can't afford £700 for exchange clocks plus re-coding.

Can anyone help. Are digidashnorth west any good with issues like this? in Preston

When vcds tests the instruments, does it send a signal to sensors then the ecu reads and displays on clocks?
or does it just send a signal from the ecu - therefore could be faulty wiring to the clocks / or clocks?

Really backed into a corner here, as I don't want to drive the car without cooling.

thanks Chris - Lancashire

WORD OF WARNING
Been having trouble with hood see brilliant thread

Audi A4 Cabriolet Soft Top/ Roof / Hood Motor Repair Guide by Vagpro

Hopefully fixed mine. Went back to garage had a moan and ask for print out of fault codes. They pointed to the switches attached to the motor at front of hood. However after a bit more checking there was a short showing on one of the switch wires.

They are going to trace back to see if any breaks in the wires.

However I have a smart top module fitted from mods4cars model STLFAI1. I removed this and hood works fine. Replaced it hood worked then didn't. This module ( older version ) was fitted when I bought the car and I had roof trouble, took it to Audi they said module had got water in it (doubtful) and had caused the problem, removed and hood worked. I fitted a new module as this is a really useful accessory that I used a lot. Lets you close hood whilst moving and opens closes hood from key fob. This new module seems to have now failed.

If any one out there is having problems and has one of these fitted that could be your problem.

I will be writing to mods4cars as this module is less than a year old and has potentially cost me £300 and a lot of time and trouble.

Would be interested to hear if anybody else has had the same problems with these modules.

Hi

I'm new to the site, I'm from the North West near Liverpool I'm there most weekends as my wife still lives there, but I am based in Dorset with the Army at present.

Just bought an Audi 1.8T A3 in Gun Metal grey with full leather interior, full service history, 12 Months MOT, 6 Months Tax, less than 100k on the clock and all for less than £1,000 which in my minds a bargain as there lovely Cars and drive really well.

So yea I signed upto this for advice and ideas, going to tastefully modify the Car and so far I have this in mind

Stage 2 and supporting mods
Lowered 30mm coilovers
S4 Alloys
S3 Spoiler
Front Mounted inter-cooler
Atmospheric Dump Valve
Silenced cat-back exhaust
K&N Panel
TT steering wheel and shifter
Private plates

I'll create a W.I.P when work begins, and any suggestions or advice would be appreciated ie: parts, dealers, recommendations.

Thanks for reading :)

I'm always posting up pictures of other people's cars, but this time here's a set of my little French can.

So.... Cannock Chase is well-known for doggers, but, for some reason, I assumed it would be okay at 11pm on a Saturday night.

I went to Cannock Chase to do some light painting and the first spot I wanted to use was pre-occupied by a couple fully just having it off in the back of an old mk2 Clio.

So, I didn't even get out of the car, we just moved onto another spot. At the second spot everything looked okay until we got out the car and could hear people in the trees behind us.

Not cool.

We ended up going to the roads near Moseley Old Hall, which were ideal.

Not a bad attempt at light painting, but I'm not very happy with it as it's nowhere near the quality I had hoped to achieve. Practice makes perfect, I guess.

And here are some from my earlier drive through Cannock Chase:

I've been reading most people's build threads and other questions , taking into account what work has already been done to the car could I fit 3" down pipe decat / sport cat , upgrade middle section , reuse scorpion back box. I've read up on these 0280 150 558 which can run the same fuel pressure so not stressing the fuel system as ramping the pressure up , they are EV1 which I believe are right and run the same impedance as stock which is good for ecu . They are 440cc so that's about 88bhp poss achievable each x4 is 352bhp now I don't want or need that but could it be mapped to run say 280-300 bhp with this set up on stock internals & fuel pump etc or should I look for smaller cc injectors which take me to this bhp figure.
Cheers

Hi,
I have recently picked up an S5 (2010) full leather seats excluding memory, & heat. I currently have leather seats which have electric lumbar only.
Can anyone out there advise me on how I can get these wired in?
some say its just a couple of extra wires that need feeding through, whilst others say it needs a full wiring loom.
Will I need to get it coded in as well?
Is there anyone out there that has the wiring diagram for electric seat ?, or is there anyone within Leicester area who can do this for us?

I really appreciate your input on this?
Kind Regards

Hi, I own a 2002 Audi S3 8L in Nagaro Blue. I was looking at doing some things to it as its relatively low milage and getting a bit 'normal' for my tastes. Im looking at the moment at getting a stage 1 revo map with a Pipercross PK339 (bought cheap) and possibly a new exhaust although Ill prob leave this till later in the year. Below are a list of mods I want to do but can anyone suggest anything worth while to add which are relatively cheap to do myself:

change DV to forge recirculating unit (i wanted a bit more noise but not the full whoosh, someone suggested the dual action DV... thoughts?)
n249 bypass
oil catch/breather addition
change boost pipes to silicon
change washer fluid bottle to a metal unit as current one is broke

Anything else + thoughts

Does this filter require a reducer or will it jubilee clip straight onto the MAF? Standads air box is easy to remove I assume?

Thanks :)

Hi All,
I should be getting my A3 next week. I have decided because the rims are in good nick I am going to add another set of locking wheel nuts. When I put my vehicle details on the Mcgard site (A3 2006) it comes back with 28018SU the better version are the 28018SL which have the same dimensions but are strangely not given as an option when I do a search on my car. The problem is I have the 18" 20 spoke alloys which were an upgrade and I don't know if they use the standard bolts or if the bolts are longer or have different dimensions from the standard ones. Does anyone know?

Cheers.

I recently bought an Rnse(prt no 8P0 035 192 T) and finally got round to installing it today I upgraded from a symphony 2. I bought my lead from kufatec and specified Bose, mfsw, no cd changer etc. I checked the kufatec lead and the Bose Wires position seemed to correspond with the sticker on the Rnse.

I have coded channel 37 to 0309755, I wanted to code 0xxx5xx but telematic europa was not available on VCDS for some reason so I opted for 7. Also channel 77 to 001xxxx (my actual code is 0011622) to enable telephone and added 4 to the value in channel 62 for nav on dis. It all seems to be working fine apart from I still see gala in sound settings, I thought Bose disabled this, and does this mean Bose isn't setup correctly? Also does anyone know why i cannot pick telephone Europa in channel 37? I thought i needed this for correct function of Bluetooth, but it seems to work so not quite sure what it is for.

Thanks in advance
