PD130 Oil Consumption?

Hi folks

Just coming up to about 1300 miles and the dipstick is showing the level to be halfway. Seems quite good to me as I've heard some horror stories about PD oil consumption.

What's been your experience with a new PD130 engine?

Had a few PD engined cars and have usually been around the 1 litre consumption over the first 1000 miles.

Last new PD130 i got (October 2002) used loads of oil over the first 10k miles. Seemed to rectify his totally following the first service/oil change. I thought this was excessive, but after speaking to a few PD drivers, they said they had simillar experience when cars were new. Taking delivery of a new PD130 Highline a week on Friday so will beinteresting to see ifthat behaves in a similar fashion. Cheers.
