Air Flow Metre?

does this air flow metre clean itself when you turn the engine off? my brother seems to be thinking that the dirt is burt off at shut down,

I believe some of them do.
They will heat up for a set period of time to burn off any residue.
It all depends on what MAF sensor you have fitted.
Do a google search, that how I found out when I had issues with mine.
