I have a 1.9tdi A4 SE on a 55 plate.

The flash tools themselves are almost always badly built clones of proper tools with rubbish cracked software. Even if you do experiment with the flash tools please, please DON'T try flashing any of the "maps" to your ECU. One hilarious case I saw recently was a guy who flashed an MP3 to his ECU without knowing.
99 times out of 100 this sort of thing ends in tears, and a pro will end up charging you more to fix it than if you just went to get a proper remap in the firstplace.

Just out of interest, how much does remapping cost roughly ?
