hi i have a few problems it is a a3 1.9 tdi pd 130 the 1st problem is that my fuel light has come on when the gauge says half a tank but i have ran out of fuel now and when i totaly fill it it goes well past the full tank mark my 2nd problem is that sometimes my car ticks over high at junctions but if you blip the throttle it returns back to where it should tick over any help would be great thanks marc

Suspect these are problems for an auto electrician. I have read of similar fuel gauge problems elsewhere caused by a faulty sender in the tank, and also by a problem with the gauge itself (poor earth i think). The tickover is best adddressed by getting a VAGCOM check. Again it could be electrical eg sticky or failing throttle position sensor, or electronic eg an ECU fault needing reset or a sensor on the way out.
