I have just bought an A4 2.0l diesel and it has developed this uneven running just above idle, i dont think its a misfire as it cant be felt when driving only when stationary,
Any help appreciated.

If it`s the PD140 engine it a design flaw that many PD140 engines do. If you find it annoying you can raise the rev limit by a few hundred RPM to cure it.

Cheers mate , how do i tell if its a PD140 engine, it is a 140bhp

Get your registration certificate and look in section 4 coloured blue. Go down to P.5 where it says engine number what code does it give you? If the car is 2006 or earlier it will be a PD140 as common rail had not been used by then.

Yeah because they raise the idle RPM limit same as you can do with VAG COM for free.
