A6 2.5TDI VNT Problem

Hi

I have a failed VNT, the diaphragm seems to have failed as you cannot build any vacuum in the thing. Does anyone know where I can get a new VNT solenoid without having to shell out for a complete turbo?

They are available on german ebay. You will need to adjust the rod to the same lenght as the old one otherwise you will experience limp mode or you can cause an overboost wich may dammage the turbocharger in the long run. Personally, i would have your existing one refurbished as the turbo will be probably tired anyway... You dont want the seals to let go as the engine will self destruct by running on its own oil !
