hi guys i have a post on here regarding my 1.9 tdi, its says that the code reader picked up on this
0226 start of inj control
control difference

was what it came up with.
back on his comp it means ....throttle position switch ( tp switch)
or app sensor accelerator position sensor

after speaking to one of my mates seams i can get a second hand fuel pump for my car, but im told it will need codeing to the car when its fitted. may i ask is this easy to do or dealer jobby. if i fit new pump and it is not the problem do i have to code the old pump again????

im kinda at a loss

The first code means that the pump its either too advanced and the pump does not like it. I would take it to someone with vag com to check the pump timing... Its the engine noisier than before the cambelt change ?

it hasnt had a cam belt change i changed the fan belt tensioner before me holls but did 960 miles on holls it was as usuall.

Then it looks like the advance solenoid is on its way out. Not complicated to do but you must position the sensor in EXACTLY the same position or the car will rev to death. You could get your pump reconditioned at any Bosch garage or decent diesel specialist. See dieselbob.co.uk for more details and he does top quality job at reasonable prices. I would also chech the woodruf key on the crank pulley as they known to shear and thats the first symptom before the belt slips ruining the engine... Is the car hard to start or does it make funny noises when revved as there is not enough fuel available to the pump ?

it wont start at all it tries to fire, with a air line pushing at the tank filler cap fuel comes out the pump when bleed. i cracked inj pipes off only a dribble out of 2 an 4 clyinders. ive towed it a mile at 4000 rpm still nothing

guys ive been to see every one today about my car and i went to the bosch agents who told me code 0226 is a problem with the pump.

normally the pump is nackered when it reads this code hence the car not starting.

i can get a second hand pump at a good price of some one but its off a 1996 car same engine the lot 1.9 tdi 90 bhp ahu type engine
a/ will it work on my car
b/ do i have to get it coded ( what is coding please and can any one do it)
c/ is it a easy job to do fitting pump or best to let garage do it??
