Hi
i was wondering if anyone on here has come across this
its now happened to a mk4 golf and a sharan
it seems that the miss is only ever cylinder 1 and after you have pulled the cam cover off the engine wiggled injector loom on number 1 cylinder the engine then runs on 4 again
has anyone on here had a similar problem
both engines have done between 110k - 130k
i was wondering if it could be the loom in the head that connects to the injectors
it also seems that that end of the loom has the most movement and maybe this is causing a broken wire or the terminals on the plug on the injector getting weak because of movement over time
any other suggestions welcome
thanks Paul

Common fault this on the PD engines get a new injector loom from the stealers About £30 and it will be fine. What happens is the oil causes poor conections and the wiring goes hard / brittle.

Thanks for replying
had all ready sorted it ,
but thanks anyway
the loom was £36 and it was in stock so that said it all
cheers
Paul

hi was it ok a idle for a few minutes then it started to have a small misfire then was ok once warm ?

No there was intermittent miss fire and sometimes it wouldnt go away at all .

had injector 1 fault so changed all injectors and still got injector 1 fault so must be loom

Definately its always that end of the loom that goes ,
when you do it you will notice that end is unsupported compared to the rest i think thats the problem
Paul
