RANT BEGINS

Car went in for an MOT today. The car passed, though the noise I heard coming from the engine compartment is suspected of coming from the drive shaft and will require 5 hours just to look to see what the problem maybe.

I have read widely that the clutch and flywheel need replacing on these cars and it has only done 64K. I have owned three other cars and NEVER had this sort of issue. The car is 4 years old and it is starting to cost an arm and a leg to keep it working correctly.

Also the alternator belt tensioner may also need replacing as that is making a noise too.

I know very little about cars and how they 'should' work so I am looking for any experience others have had. Is this normal or is it just not my day?
