D.I.S Calculation?

I've got an A4 TDi 170 and want to know how the D.I.S Calculates tank range.

Obviously it uses the amount of fuel in the tank multiplied by a MPG figure - But what MPG does it use? Average from new, Last 1000 miles etc?

Anyone know?

I "think" I have read somewhere, possibly in the owners manual(?) - that it analyses your driving style over the last 2 minutes and makes it calculations based on that. Have a look in the manual and see what it says

Almost certain it bases it on the fuel used in the previous 30km of driving.

Thanks mate, would have checked the manual but the little sweethearts that broke into my car decided that they wanted to keep it
