A4 diesel turbo EGR pipe blew out

Hi folks, my first post, I need a bit of advice. My son in law's 2006 A4 diesel (40k on clock) has had the small (about as thick as your thumb) steel pipe come out of the side of the turbo, making a terrible din! RAC pop'ed it back in with a crow bar and it's off to the dealer, probably for replacement under warranty, tomorrow.
Has anyone had this happen ? looks like it is clamped in position by a two bolt flange. Only serviced by dealer so hope no 'excuses' by them! mickyal.

Looks like nobody has had this exhaust gas cooling pipe problem (broken weld at mounting flange) so far, but Audi recovery driver said he has pulled a few similar ones in....And the dealer had the manifold/pipe in stock. Anyway, job (approx. £400) done under warantee, with an A6 as a loan car for two days, can't be bad! mickyal.
