Looking into re-mapping my car and came across the new switchable code boxes. AMD offer this and so do Awesome GTI (not an APR product).
What happens is they download a new code to the ECU, it takes about 10 minutes. Following this you can switch between standard and modified codes via a box plugged onto the serial port, only takes 10 seconds or so. The code is generic for each type of engine*
My question is, is this just another form of a tuning box, or does alter more parameters than just pumping in more fuel?
*AMD do offer a rolling road version and fine tune it to your car.
