Engine oil for 1.9 Tdi

I have an Audi A3 1.9 Tdi 110 bhp (1999, V - reg). Does anyone know what type of oil would be best? Is fully synthetic oil ok to use?

10/40 Fully Synthetic

Castrol Edge 10w40 or Quantum Synta 10w40 - also check your manual as I think your engine will need to meet the VW 505.00 spec oil as your engine is the VP tdi ? , the PD's need to meet spec VW 505.01
