Just bought an A4 TDI 110 SE........

Hi i'm new to this site, ive just bought myself a high mileage A4 TDI 110 SE with 170k on the clock and ive got a couple of questions.......


The clutch seems to have a fairly high biting point.. does the always mean the clutch is on its way out or can it be adjusted?

The timing belt probably needs replacing... is it an easy DIY job?

i got a quote from a reasonable garage just the other week for belt replacement. came in about 280 i think due to the kit being nearly £150+...

Now he might have been leading me up the path...

Funnily enough thats exactly what i was quoted by my local garage, they are usually fairly cheap so i guess parts do make up the bulk of the price as you say.
